Working at the kampground ( with a "K")

Whoever said Workamping isn't fun? In May we have cleaned all the Kabins including the windows and the kurtains. The kurtains were fun as we couldn't figure out where they all went after they had been washed! How many Seniors does it take to hang kurtains in 11 Kabins? We also scraped and repainted all the picnic tables in the kampground. Sore muscles after that! Another fun chore was cleaning the bathrooms after a long winter and repainting all the baseboards white. (Even behind the toilets!) I had to sit on the toilet stool backwards to reach behind them to paint. That was quite a picture that I'm glad no one took. Norm fixed all the plumbing leaks from the winter and fixed shower heads and toilets. We also learned about the kitchen duties and had a nice food sampling party. The pool and the hot tub got cleaned, filled and started up and some decks were built and/or repainted. Some of us learned office duties including the registration software and cleaned and set up displays for the store and gift shop. Though we worked hard, we also played hard and had some fun kampfires and birthday parties. Our new friends here are Mike & Jan, Mike and Kaylyn, Don & Sheri, Walt & Traci, Neal, Pat, Casey, Homer & Andrea and Walt & Traci's kids..Marika, Bailey, Brennan and Brady. In addition to all the nice people, there is also the fun Zoo!

Montana in May 2009

May has been a fun month. We've spent lots of time with family doing a Memorial Day picnic at my Daughter's house and a scavenger hunt in our campground back yard. We also play at the petting zoo here in the campground and do art work. Kris & the girls & I get together at least once during the week and then we all get together on Sunday's, usually. Montana is full of horses and flowers, not to mention the mountains. Whitefish Lake is one of the places we have been enjoying. May is a bit cold for Mommy and me, but not for the girls! Not all was fun in May though. Norm was really sick for about 3 days with an infection and high fever. He recovered well and was back to work after a trip to an Urgent Care facility. They put him on an antibiotic and it worked quickly. The other not fun thing was we finally bit the bullet and bought a new computer and an internet card to be able to access the web other than just occasionally. It is costing us more money monthly, but at least I can blog! and check email and pay bills quicker than on my cell phone.

May 3, 2009

No Unity Church close to us (several hundred miles away) so we'll listen to a Lana CD today. It's 42 degrees and Chassis and I did a long morning walk. Four goats passed us which got the "BARK" going and then a lady drove by in her car, which increased the bark episode full blast. That also finished the walk. Our neighbors (Mike and Jan) said someone always has to have a barking dog, so I guess that will be our job. How can she be so good inside and so bad outside? I really need Cesar (the dog whisperer).
So, now I don't plan to keep a daily log until we start traveling again. I'll let you know highlights of the Summer as we go along.
